Walter Lindstrom talks about his Medtronic DBS Patient Programmer that uses a surgically implanted medical device, similar to a cardiac pacemaker, to deliver electrical stimulation to an area in his brain to help treat tremors caused by Parkinson’s disease. He calls the effects of deep brain stimulation “fantastic” and “awesome” – it stops the tremors in his hands.
